teletext have always been a big supporter of Ryan, he always seems to get news coverage on that medium, so I think they'd try their best to post something correctly
wow.. that's next month.
"cardinology" seems weak album title wise.

True -- it is a weak title. And the album cover will probably feature the new Cardinology symbol too.
At any rate, I REALLY REALLY REALLY REALLY hope this is true. I don't know how much longer I can wait, and the new songs I've heard so far are amazing.

okay it seems to be true, because RAA-member dubstar said so:
Lost Highway
over 30 songs recorded but it will be a single LP
10/27-10/28
pretty sure nothing solo was recorded, definitely not "crooner" style, but who knows about the tracks that don't make the new cardinals LP
future looks bright however it unfolds
and the producers are ...
schick and the band

okay, I'm officially excited! :D

"Exclusive: new LP
Ryan Adams & The Cardinals release new album Cardinology on October 27, Planet Sound can reveal.
The follow-up to 2005's Jacksonville City Lights, it's the band's first album to be billed as just Cardinals. They tour from November 10.
Adams has also been recording his first solo album to follow last year's Easy Tiger. He has described it as "an old-school crooner record"."
....wooo hooo!!!! :D

Hm, seems like all the fuzz about changing to his own label was as much about nothing, as the information about the release of the box-set :(

'Someone' gave me information on the tracklist of Cardinology, but I'm not sure on the reliability of this ...thought I'd post it anyway -
1. Born into a Light
2. Go Easy
3. Fix It
4. Magick
5. Cobwebs
6. Let Us Down Easy
7. Crossed Out Name
8. Natural Ghost
9. Sink Ships
10. Evergreen
11. Like Yesterday
12. Stop
Apparently... "the cover is pretty sweet. black background with the neon blue Cardinals logo (like the one on Brad's drumset). at the top in white lettering it says - Ryan Adams and the Cardinals: Cardinology"
There's no 'Sorry of Sorry' or 'Color of Pain', but they may have different names and it's quite different to the tracklist ryan posted a while ago...
1.Disappearing Act
2.Crossed-Out Name
3.Allumette
4.Something Sweet
5.I’m Sorry of “Sorry”
6.Bad Dreams
7.Put it In Reverse
8.I’m Rags
9.I See A RainyFace
10.Damage Me
11.Roll Credits
12.Betray
13.Sinking Ships
14.I Made My Bed
15.Kate
16.Run For Your Life
17.Blank Pages
Ah well ...unless anyone has any official information, then we'll find out in time :)

The track list intrigues me -- I HOPE there's more than just 12 tracks on the album!
Also, I was thinking that about the Lost Highway thing too -- maybe Ryan's own label fell through and he re-signed with LH? If anyone knows, I'm quite curious :)
I even marked this on my calendar - I'm SO excited!

October's gonna be a wicked month for releases, and this annoncment adds much to it. Glad to see "Crossed Out Name" made the cut.

Crossed out name and like yesterday! I'm stoked about that. This has certainly been a busy day for RA/Cardinal fans. I got excited enough to preorder the lp from music direct, when I don't even have a currently functioning turntable. Well, guess I have a month to get it working again.

Is the 27th the correct date? It's a Monday and records are usually released on Tuesdays.

Some new "Cardinology" info, that I've pieced together from different sources (Rolling Stone Magazine & Billboard).
First single “Fix It” will be digitally released to radio Tuesday, September 23, while “Stop” will receive a sneak premiere in the Tuesday, September 30 episode of tv-series "The Cleaner". Fans who order the album on vinyl will receive a special 7-inch single as a bonus (content unknown), as well as a download code for an MP3 version of "Cardinology."

P.S. Here's what seems to be the front cover (notice: it's billed as Ryan Adams AND the cardinals):

you can't believe how happy I am.
but I think I won't listen to any more new songs that will eventually appear at the upcoming shows. I already know more than half of the new album ... I don't know if that is too good.

So where do I have to order that Vinyl and everything? I usually don't
order stuff from America, so please point me into the right direction.
Thank youououou :)

The Billboard article doesn't say from where to order. I checked Amazon, but couldn't find anything yet. My guess is that it might be a Cardinology.com thing? Anyone else who knows? Regardless, this one's gonna be great ...

It's going to be released on 24 October over here (next Friday), don't know if there are other Belgian people here who didn't know that.
I can't wait to hear it, I've been avoiding all the new songs so I've no idea what to expect.

15-10-2008, 04:29 PM
you get the 24th? I asked my fucking local record store and they said the German release date is the 31st and not only that - they don't get it the normal way record stores do, only when the customers pre-order it they get it delivered.
that sucks ... I think I'll pre-order it on amazon.
anyway, I'm totally looking forward to it! :)

the new Rolling Stone interview makes it even more exciting, such a great overview of the album. ive always thought "Easy Tiger" was the beginning of a new drug-free era for Ryan, and i still believe that, but "Cardinology" is probably the Cards jumping on the bandwagon if you see what i mean... haha, anyway, has the RS interview been posted over here??
if it has, here it is again:
