brilliant. i was blown away tbh and that was the 7th/8th time I've seen Ryan.

my only negative was the last song, no need for such noise/feedback/distortion after a night of such brilliant music. oh and play the harmonica more damn it, you could feel the atmosphere suddenely become electric when he played the first few bars of Come Pick Me Up with his harmonica.

the extended versions of I Taught Myself, Rescue blues, I see Monsters, argh, can't remember, but they were fantastic, they're all such great musicians.

yet again morons were shouting stuff but luckily Ryan seemed to find it amusing and actually interacted with the audience, i hadn't heard him talk in the last couple of shows. The calculator story was quite amusing too.

i think one tour a year makes us pretty lucky. A lot of 'top' acts don't tour that often

You need a bittorrent client (if that's the term)-Utorrent is good, free, just go to www.utorrent.com. I think I originally downloaded it through cnet but I think there are other options. It's pretty easy to set up--trust me, if I can, anyone can. The requirement at RAA is to keep a 50% ratio-- to download no more than you upload essentially, so you do have to leave the torrent open sometimes. There are some highspeed internet providers that don't allow torrents and I guess some businesses or colleges don't allow them either. That's pretty much all I know. RAA has a great helpful thread in the support section, you should go check there.

I saw him twice in '06 and twice again in '07, all four times in Manchester. Not sure if Birmingham dates were on all of those tours though.
