Hi all,
Whether you're new to the forum, or you've been since 2003 when RAO began, I thought I'd quickly go through the rules for requesting songs in the Song Requests thread, for the sake of legal status of RAO-Forums and for the benefit of Ryan and The MFC.

Basically it's:

Allowed:
Live Recordings (there is a Live Shows thread)
Videos (such as live, foggy, fuzzy, horion74, DRA, etc.)
Unreleased Sessions (except ones noted below)
and Rare B-Sides & Bonus Tracks (Bakamomo's law)

Not Allowed:
Easy to buy CDs (official albums and Ep's)
Music Videos (easy to illegally rip audio from)
Elizabeth Town Sessions (recently leaked)
Swedish Sessions (due to Ryan's wishes) (sorry, we must respect Ry's wishes)

You may also want to read; what I call "Bakamomo's Law", an idea thought up by our member Bakamomo (much appreciated btw :p) that goes:

No posts of "Cardinology" or "Easy Tiger" b-sides or bonus tracks (via pm only) but free posts of old stuff.
It's a principal to only post stuff of less commerical importance. Sales of the new record could, to some degree be affected by us (at this time) publically sharing the bonus tracks.
But it's impossible to swing by the record store and buy a special edition of JCN or the "Wonderwall" single, or even buy this stuff on the Internet. Without the possibility to share rare bonus tracks or b-sides this forum would become less meaningful. For instance most concerts can be downloaded from Internet archive (www.archive.org) or RAA (www.ryanadamsarchive.com).
After all, we're hardcore fans who spend a lot of time here together beacuse we love Ryans music, not because we're cheap. For instance: if all b-sides were available through iTunes, I would gladly pay for them - despite the poor audio quality and the stupendous copy-protection.

Peace guys :)

Good to have a reference for what is and what is not allowed!
Just to be clear, with music videos you mean official videos for singles and stuff, right? I mean, the foggy/fuzzy/whatever vids are still fair game, right?

there is a post about it in the "song requests" thread, it basically says the sessions are too personal and he wouldn't be comfortable with the uploading of it... not that it can be stopped completely.... but i feel we should support ryan, there are other ways of getting this session :)

oh yeah, well he's been really really good enough with us with the rest of the stuff, I'm sure we can oblige with that request
